Dear Members of the Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition,
We extend a warm welcome to the Korean Society of Food Science and Nutrition (KFN)'s
website. In the year 2024, the KFN will continue its multidisciplinary academic exchange
activities in the fields of food science and nutrition, with the aim of contributing to the
development of the food industry and the enhancement of public health.
Founded in 1971, the KFN is celebrating its 53rd anniversary this year. We publish esteemed
journals such as the Journal of Medicinal Food (SCIE indexed), the Journal of Korean Society
of Food Science and Nutrition (SCOPUS indexed), Preventive Nutrition and Food Science (ESCI
indexed), and Food Industry and Nutrition (an industrial journal). Additionally, we organize
industrial symposiums, international symposiums, and regular academic conferences in the
fields of food science and nutrition to engage in diverse and in-depth academic activities.
Through these endeavors, our goal is to offer guidance and solutions for the development of
the food industry in accordance with changing times and to promote public health in
collaboration with academia, industry, and government.
In 2024, the KFN will concentrate on three key themes, with the aim of making substantial
strides in the roles of the food industry and nutrition, spanning from farm to table for the
well-being of society:
Firstly, we will provide a blueprint for addressing rapid population changes to
contribute to the promotion of public health.
Secondly, we will lead in scientific and technological integration in the fields of food
science and nutrition and present the agenda of the new normal era.
Thirdly, we will establish organic cooperation among our members, domestic and
international related industries, government agencies, and foreign academic societies,
in pursuit of globalization.
Our society is committed to actively pursuing the inclusion of Preventive Nutrition and Food
Science (PNF) in SCIE (currently indexed as ESCI), as part of our efforts to promote the
sustainable development of the fields of food science and nutrition in 2024. Additionally,
to present the agenda of the new normal era to the food industry, academia, and society, we
will host international symposiums and academic conferences, in a collaborative effort
between academia, industry, government, and research institutes, solidifying the KFN's
position as a truly global society.
We are planning to host an international symposium and academic conference on the theme
"Advances in Farm to Table Technologies for Human Health" at the Jeju International
Convention Center (ICC Jeju) from October 23rd to 25th, 2024. We humbly request your ongoing
interest, cooperation, and active participation.
In 2024, the executive team and the board of directors of our society will spare no effort to meet and exceed your expectations. We extend our sincere gratitude.
